This never ending winter is getting on my nerves. It's almost almost April and still there's snow everywhere and freezing cold.
Hanging out with friends, having a beer or two, enjoying the endless summer days - that's what I want! Where is the summer goddamnit.

Helsinki in pictures - Old Helsinki
Here's some pictures of early 1900s Helsinki.
This is from the Senate Square. In my previous post you can see what it looks like today.

Esplanade park. I like how they shipped palm trees to make a fine impression of the city.

Helsinki in pictures - Film noir
During summer sun almost never sets in Helsinki. Then again, rest of the year is mostly dark. These were taken in last Fall in afternoon. It's looks a little depressing but I still find it pretty cool in a sense. Looks like a scene from a film noir movie.

Helsinki in pictures - The Helsinki Cathedral
The Helsinki Cathedral is one of my favorite places in Helsinki. I love to sit on top of the steps that lead to it in night time. Everything's so quiet and beautiful.
Here it is in the wintertime
A couple of tourists trying to climb up the steps that are covered in snow.
Another view of the people
And yet another
There it stands in a warm summer night.

Friends and happy couples enjoying the evening.
The Kallio church is visible from the top.
Now, isn't this something. I love summer.
Helsinki in pictures - Kallio
Here's some pictures of Helsinki - my home town - that I have taken over the years.
First patch of them anyway. I've taken quite a few of them.
These pictures are from a part of town called Kallio.

Not a child anymore
I have decided to begin write in english from now on. I feel like my thoughts need to spread worldwide for other dwellers of midnight like me.
I have windows in front of my computer screen. I can see children playing outside. When was the last time I stomped on pools of water ever increasing from the melting snow? I used to build little dams to control the torrent of water, release small boats in it made of leaves, twigs and whatnot.
I want to be a child again. But I cannot.
